Bill has a Scouting career of 60 years, starting as a youth in Cub Scouts at age 8 and becoming an Eagle Scout in the Class of 1970. From ages 18-21 he was involved in the exploring program. As an Adult Leaders he has been an Exploring Advisor, Merit Badge Counselor for numerous merit badges, Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster, O. A. Lodge Advisor, Vigil Honor in the Wenasa Quenotan Lodge, Unit Committee Member and is currently Committee Chair for 3 units in the Wotamalo District. He has attended Philmont Scout Ranch and 2 National Jamborees as a staff member. He was the ISR Camp Director in 2014 and the Camp Director for Mississippi Valley Council in 2018 & 2019.
Married to Lori Maddox (who is also involved in Scouting as a unit committee member). Three children, one of whom is son Andrew who is also an Eagle Scout and Vigil Honor. Four grandchildren.
Retired Police Officer (34 year). Retired History Teacher and currently a substitute teacher for Pekin Public School District.
